At Long Last.

It’s time to move on from the steroid scandal. It’s time to move on from the public way it is being handled now. To ruin people’s reputations and careers over hearsay evidence in such a public way reminds me of Joe McCarthy and McCarthyism. How will the innocent clear their names with the same tenacity it was besmirched? Where are the Americans who should believe in the principles of their own country? Where is the press that should also believe in those same principles? Where are the voices that stand up and say, “At long last, have you no decency sir?”

The argument that this issue is important because athletes are role models for children is a bogus one. I would argue this government inspired publicity is doing more to negatively influence children since it raises the profile of this issue even further. By having low evidentiary standards increases the likelihood of the situation being exaggerated, affecting even more children.

Every moment the government wastes on issues that are not important, it neglects issues that are. Sports should not be an issue that gains senate and congressional hearings.

Hopefully we don’t ruin completely America’s pastime by simultaneously ruining America.

At Long Last.

I could not agree more, even with this whole spygate thing.  LET SPORT GOVERN ITSELF...................................

About The Musings of King Ben.
I don't know I guess I'll just make it up as I go along. Perhaps I'll discuss sports or something of that nature. Or perhaps, the Dallas Cowboys, who knows...
